Pre-op preparation
- Inform us about any allergies, all medical you are using and medical that you can’t use.
- Avoid aspirin And all the supplements , anticoagulant before surgery at least 2 weeks

Pre-op evaluation
- Press cold around the chin for 2 – 3 days
- Sleep in slightly head up for first week
- Washing face and tooth brushing are allowed but be careful not to scratch on the incision
- Keep bandage on for 3 days and then you can remove it by yourself
- No stitches off needed
Surgical procedure
Chin augmentation performed for improve unbeautiful chin by implant with medical grade material. After process chin will look like a normal bony structure. In case of patient who has moved forward chin bone may require surgical procedure. Surgeon will explain about suitable result of chin with patient.
Surgeon will create pocket at a chin under thin fascia cover the bone and insert the implant in proper position. Incision may placed in the mouth or outside under the chin crease. In case of re-position bone structure, the operation will do under general anesthesia and patient has to stay 1 night in hospital.
Patient can do chin augmentation with other procedures such as face lift, face liposuction and liposuction for turkey wattle removal.
With beyond extension surgery such as mandibular or maxillary, we will inform and discuss about advantage and disadvantage and come to conclusion. If is be needed we will recommend you to a reputable colleague in oral and maxillofacial surgery for surgical planning.
Result
Chin augmentation will improve weak chin, sagging skin in the chin area and also improve shape and facial balance to become a beautiful natural chin.
Swollen should be better in 1-2 weeks and scar will be hidden.

Possible risks and complications
Mainly is swelling, bruising, bleeding and infection. The numbness around chin area will be better and be normal in a month.
Side effect
Those side effects would be much more if another cosmetic surgery procedure were performed.
After care
Keep dressing tape for few days and then remove off. Discomfort for chewing and liquid/soft food is required. Unusual feeling on face will be normal in a week.
Recovery
1 – 2 weeks but usually back to work in a week.
